Applicants for admission to the Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences Degree program through Lamar University Academic Partnerships must meet the admission requirements for Lamar University and the academic guidelines outlined below. To apply, students must have either been out of high school for more than 5 years or have 3 or more years of military experience, and:
- Students beginning courses in the 2009-2010 academic year are required to have at least 90 hours of academic credit.
- Students beginning courses in the 2010-2011 academic year are required to have at least 75 hours of academic credit.
- Students beginning courses in the 2011-2012 academic year or thereafter are required to have at least 60 hours of academic credit.
Additional Requirements
- Academic hours consist of all prior university or college courses but do not include developmental course credit hours or the double counting of credit hours through grade replacement/course repetition.
- Completed an approved core curriculum from a Texas public institution of higher education. For information about determining core completion status, consult Texas General Education Core Web Center.
- Texas Success Initiative (TSI) exempt or complete.
- Cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0 on a 4.0 scale for all work attempted.
Applicants are responsible for assembling and submitting the appropriate documents that will verify the above requirements have been met. By submitting these materials, applicants are also attesting that these documents provide a complete record of one’s history in higher education, to particularly include official transcripts from all colleges and/or universities attended.
